Palworld Breeding Guide

Breeding in Palworld is the primary way to obtain rare Pals, max out passive skills, and build the most efficient base workforce. Every Pal in the game has a hidden Breeding Power stat โ€” the core number that drives all breeding calculations.

The formula is straightforward: Child Breeding Power = (Parent1 BP + Parent2 BP) รท 2. The game then finds whichever Pal in the entire Paldex has a Breeding Power closest to that result. This means you can strategically choose parents to target specific offspring.

Chain breeding is the technique of breeding a Pal with desired passive skills into successive generations to stack up to 4 powerful skills on a single Pal. For example, breeding two Pals that both carry Artisan produces offspring with a higher chance of inheriting it, which can then be bred again to lock in additional skills like Lucky or Serious.

Fusion Pals are a special category that ignore the Breeding Power formula entirely โ€” specific parent pairs always produce a predetermined fusion offspring. Lyleen + Menasting always yields Lyleen Noct. These combos are checked first before the formula runs.

Frequently Asked Questions โ€” Palworld Breeding

How does breeding work in Palworld?+

Each Pal has a Breeding Power stat. Child BP = (Parent1 BP + Parent2 BP) รท 2. The Pal with the closest Breeding Power to that result becomes the offspring. Special fusion combos override this formula.

What is breeding power in Palworld?+

Breeding Power is a hidden stat (roughly 500โ€“630+) that determines breeding outcomes. Higher is not always better โ€” the goal is to choose parents whose average BP targets the Pal you want.

What parents breed Anubis?+

Anubis has BP 590. Pairs like Penking + Bushi, Arsox + Caprity, and Tombat + Penking all produce Anubis. Use "Find Parent Combos" in the calculator to see all 50+ valid pairs.

How do I breed fusion Pals?+

Fusion Pals require specific parent pairs regardless of Breeding Power. For example, Lyleen + Menasting = Lyleen Noct, and Relaxaurus + Sparkit = Relaxaurus Lux. Check our special combos list in the calculator.

How do passive skills transfer through breeding?+

Offspring inherit 1-2 passive skills from each parent. Higher-tier skills (Legendary/Epic) have greater inheritance probability. Chain breed repeatedly to stack up to 4 desired skills on one Pal.

What are the best Pals to breed for a base?+

Anubis (Lv4 handiwork + Lv3 mining), Lyleen (Lv4 planting + Lv3 medicine), Orserk (Lv3 electricity), and Blazehowl (Lv3 kindling) are top-tier base Pals worth chain breeding for.

How long does breeding take in Palworld?+

Breeding time varies by Pal and server settings. On default settings most Pals take 2โ€“5 minutes to produce an egg. Legendary Pals take significantly longer. Egg incubation time is separate from the breeding time.
